Under the supervision of the manager, the Fish Culturist is primarily responsible for the production of the hatchery’s 85 million pink salmon, 30 million chums, 3.5 million cohos and 300,000 chinooks. The job entails a broad range of responsibilities from eggtake, incubation, rearing and record keeping, to assisting on all aspects of hatchery operations. Living year-around at the remote and beautiful Port Armstrong site is required.
In-depth knowledge of salmon culture, with experience in the rearing of Pacific salmon in a high-production facility preferred. The ability to work as part of a team in a remote wilderness setting is essential.
