Assists the Hatchery Manager in operating a large sockeye salmon hatchery
program that produces 9 million smolts and several million fry annually. Duties include assisting
in supervising staff and performing all aspects of hatchery operations to achieve the program
goals, including administrative duties, adult harvest, broodstock collection, smolt rearing, field
camp projects, facility maintenance and shared on-call site security.
Four years overall fish culture experience. Firm knowledge in salmon culture
practices (preferably in Alaska). Must be able to live in on-site housing and work cooperatively
at a remote facility to create a positive environment with other staff. Must be in good physical
health. Must possess or obtain an Alaska driver’s license and U.S passport.
