Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI) Travel Award

 Applications due March 31st, 2014

The International Fisheries Section (IFS) of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) is excited to announce the 2014 “Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI) Student Travel Award”!  The award covers a year of membership to FSBI and up to $2,100 towards travel expenses for one chosen recipient to attend the 2014 FSBI Annual Meeting.  In addition, two honorable mentions will be announced.

 To apply, please submit a short letter of interest, concise resume, and travel budget (i.e. airfare, ground transportation, lodging, per diem) to the IFS Exchange Coordinator, Patrick Cooney (pcooney@smith-root.com) by March 31st, 2014.  In your budget, please include and specify any supporting funds you may have from other sources.

 This award is open to all Student and Young Professional Members of the American Fisheries Society, especially those working on topics of international interest or those associated with the symposium theme.

 The awardee is expected to submit a travel report and photographs suitable for inclusion in the FSBI newsletter and IFS website to both AFS and FSBI by July 18, 2014.  The awardee is also encouraged to attend the AFS meeting and IFS committee meeting in Quebec City and act as a site host for the FSBI exchange-student representative.
