Integrated Statistics is looking for a Biological Technician to work with the NOAA Fisheries’ Atlantic Salmon Ecosystems Research Team at the NEFSC in Woods Hole, MA. The position will assist with the analysis of the effects of climate-driven ecosystem change on Atlantic salmon marine growth and survival. The Technician will extract growth data from scale samples from Atlantic salmon harvested in Greenland (1969- present). Specifically, they will work with Canadian collaborators to obtain the samples, will measure all samples, will work with NEFSC staff to audit/ archive all measurement data, will participate/facilitate trainings, and will assist project collaborators in developing working papers, presentations, and manuscripts that outline project results.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries or a related field, ability to work independently and within a team, lab experience, QA/QC processes, understanding of stratified sampling, communication skills, a valid driver’s license, ability to travel within the US and possibly Canada.
